Except for the killings and the robberies and other episodes of black mob violence, the press and business owners of Memphis want us to know their downtown is safe.
But David Santucci is dead, the latest victim of black mob violence there.
The 27-year old Santucci had only recently began his career as a nurse. He liked music and concerts and the Memphis Grizzlies. He also liked his home town, though he knew it could be dangerous.
Funny story, he wrote in his Facebook page two years ago. Just got robbed at gun point in driveway haha cant beat living in Memphis.
Santucci was not so lucky with his second robbery. He had just left a birthday party 1 a.m. Monday morning at a downtown bar near Martin Luther King Boulevard. Three blocks away from the Beale Street entertainment district.
A car of three black people drove by, screeched to a halt, then backed up. A man got out and shot Santucci in the heart. He died soon after, surrounded by a spontaneous prayer circle of restaurant workers and friends who came running at the sound of the gunshot.
Santucci was found with his car keys and phone in his hands. So there is some question whether robbery was a motive.

Stay in the suburbs. Drive out promptly.
Never be in the downtown district past sunset. Never stop at an ATM. Never look at your phone while in a public place, keep your head on a swivel. Never attend any event which is for "Free". (Like the zoo shootings) If you venture into Overton Park, take your dog and a weapon. Nothing good happens after midnight. Private schools for the kids.
Wasn’t there a mob of 50 that attacked a guy. . .I think in Minnesota. I haven’t seen the story anywhere but initially at WND. I think the victim was in a coma at the time of the article. . .anyone have a follow-up.
I used to call on a couple of businesses in Memphis. I always made damned sure I was in and out before noon.
I figured the predators were still sleeping...
My rules exactly, except for the private schools. We have gone the private/home school route.
Want to see Katrina on steroids? Let a natural disaster hit Memphis, earthquake or flood are most likely. I lived in Germantown. When you see the city put chains on the overpasses so they would not shift during an earthquake, you realize how probable that is. (You will see them as you drive around the outer loop going around Memphis). Memphis is like a powder keg in a forest fire...few realize how “at the edge” it is. Glad I left.
80% of what you learn comes from home regardless. There is no rule that says a family can't supplement their kid's education outside the classroom.
You can still visit and get the barbecue, just drive south fifteen minutes from the airport into Desoto County, Ms.
The three who have finished college did so with top honors. My third granddaughter was the top grad in the education school.
Leave it to Weird Nut Daily. I’m not going to waste my time researching to check the validity of this story considering the source. I will however inform you, there is not such street in Memphis Tennessee named MLK Blvd. There is the MLK Expressway that arcs around N Memphis, but that is it
I live in Memphis!
Do you happen to know where this “ MLK Blvd.” is located in Memphis? Unless they’ve done it recently, there is no such street in Memphis
It took 44 years, in 2012 the changed Linden St. to MLK Blvd, Runns right in front of FedEx Forum.
I stand corrected. I’ve been to tigers basketball games since then and not noticed. I will say though, I’ve never had a problem or felt threatened in Memphis. I do know my way around there though
