3 members of 1972 Dolphins skip White House event over differences with Obama

Three members of the undefeated 1972 Miami Dolphins decided not to attend an event Tuesday honoring the team at the White House due to political differences with the president.
The Sun-Sentinel reported that Hall of Fame center Jim Langer, defensive tackle Manny Fernandez and guard Bob Kuechenberg skipped the event, which made up for the time the team did not get the chance to go to the White House because, in part, President Richard Nixon was embroiled in the Watergate scandal.
The three players spoke with the paper and kept their comments brief, but direct.

If the WH actually wanted to do this, they would have done it last year on the 40 anniversary.

The ‘72 season would have ended in ‘73, making this 40 years (though late Jan/early Feb would have been a better time of year).

So 0bama is the reason for the season. As always. Not any of the people being honored.
He probably think he's joking but he's not.
Kudos to the brave souls who refrained to participate in this spectacle.

I’m disappointed that Larry Csonka and Jim Kiick did not joint the other 3.Me too!
Very disappointed to see Larry there.
I lived there and was a huge Dolfan.
Loved the way Csonka ran over people. He was one bad Hombre.
