Even as I type this, I understand the disconnect between you and me. It is that you are looking at this Pope as the spiritual head of the church—leading the flock.
In this context, I am looking at him as the CEO of the Catholic Church Corporation.
Both of these jobs are the responsibility of the Bishop of Rome.
I do not think the religious/spiritual side of the church is corrupt. I think we can both agree that the “Church of Rome, Inc.” has some work to do.
