Once I was old enough to work ‘legally’, I managed to get a job paying $2.35/hour. Partly because the taxes weren't as high then, so I got to keep more of what I earned.

You were dern tooten happy about the minimum wage back then, but now? Not so much. You got yours and that's all that matters.

Taxes at the lower end were much higher in the 70's then now. Heck nobody pays federal anymore, and that is bad. The lower wage earned should feel the pain of their choices.

$2.35/hr was the min. wage back then. Yes, I worked for min. wage. Most people have.
