Mideast: The new military government in Egypt that just deposed Islamist rule there isn't Islamic enough for the Obama administration. But Saudi Arabia, whose constitution is the Koran, is backing it.
You might have thought the misguided human rights-based foreign policy practiced by Jimmy Carter was consigned to the historical ash heap during that fateful hour in January 1980 in which Ronald Reagan took the presidential oath and 52 U.S. hostages held 444 days left Iranian air space.
Unfortunately, it is back in full action in the Obama Era.
Instead of considering the dangers an Islamist regime in Cairo would pose to America, President Obama is more concerned about the Egyptian military violating human rights in ridding its country of Muslim Brotherhood rule. Suspicions arose Tuesday that the Obama administration actually will suspend the massive aid the U.S. gives to Egypt.
Granted, the land of the pharaohs now is suffering its bloodiest internal disorder in modern history, but the Saudi royal family, for its part, understands that the successor regime to that of Mohammed Morsi will be preferable to the fanatical rule of Islamism.
Saudi Arabia on Monday pledged to recompense Egypt for any Western aid it would lose because of the many hundreds killed in its quelling of demonstrations. The Saudis will contribute the lion's share of $12 billion promised by Persian Gulf countries since the July 3 coup.
Even as European governments mull cutting back Egyptian aid, Reuters reported that "on Monday many diplomats expressed concerns that withholding funds would likely hurt the Egyptian population more than the government."

I will say that it seems that this issue is picking up more steam than I would have expected.
0bama is bluffing that he is holding a straight flush, but history and reality know they are holding the cards he needs.
Obama knows he only has a little over three more years to help militant Islamists expand and consolidate their power.
He’s not desperate yet but it’s heading that way.
He definately wants things to move faster.
The Egyptian military coup and ouster of the Muslim Brotherhood is a big setback for him.

The organization’s IRS filings list another Virginia address that is actually a drug rehab center where the foundation does not appear ever to have been based.
As first reported by The Daily Caller, the foundation was speedily approved for IRS exemption by Lois Lerner, the self-same IRS senior official at the center of the targeting of conservative organizations that have waited over two years to receive tax exempt status. The IRS thoughtfully gave Obama Foundation retroactive fund-raising status.......which it stupidly never applied for.
The tax-exempt Barack H. Obama Foundation is run by Abon’go “Roy” Malik Obama, the half-brother of Barack Obama.
The foundation’s mission statement is “to provide people everywhere with resources to uplift their welfare and living standards in memory of dad---Barack H. Obama: in the region of his birth, Kenya, and beyond.” Its guiding principle is “the inherent belief that no one can truly enjoy the riches he has reaped if his neighbor suffers....."We seek to elevate the human condition so that everyone can live in dignity and truly enjoy having one another as neighbors.”

Despite raising more than $250,000, the alleged charity doesn’t seem to have done much. Its website claims the organization has built a madrassa and was building an imam’s house as well as some “proposed latrines,” but there is no other evidence that the nonprofit was working to “mitigate social-shortcomings in areas of education and literacy, health and well-being, poverty, and lack of community infrastructure in such basic needs such as water, electricity, shelter and sustenance,” as the site says.
Alton Ray Baysden, a former Dept of State employee, allegedly a registered Republican, who helped start the Barack H Obama foundation, declined to comment before seeing copies of a reporter’s passport and govt ID, along with a description of the article’s “motivation” and “slant.”
Repeated reporters' phone calls went to the organization’s voicemail and were not returned.
