Our production studio is close by to the accident and driven on that road early before dawn. You could speed up Highland as there’s almost no one driving there during these times. The Highland road is mostly used to drive faster on route to LAX, even the shuttle buses take it.

Hmmm I suspected as much.
Some “mystery commenters” kept telling me Highland wouldn’t be used when traveling to LAX.
They started naming every paved surface on earth, EXCEPT Highland, as the “best route” to LAX.
I think Hastings was rushing (thru red lights) toward LAX at 4:30am to catch an early flight around 6/7am, and do exactly what he said in his emails: “Go off the radar awhile.”
He’d spoken to Wikileaks hours prior, so perhaps he was heading to Europe.
