Boyd Marcus, a veteran Republican political consultant whose client list has included U.S. House Majority Leader Eric Cantor and former Gov. Jim Gilmore, is endorsing Democrat Terry R. McAuliffe and advising his campaign over GOP nominee Ken Cuccinelli in Virginia's neck-and-neck race for governor.
The announcement by McAuliffe's campaign, confirmed to The Associated Press on Tuesday in a phone interview with Marcus, rocked Virginia politics and exposed the clearest sign to date of bad blood within the GOP between its establishment and the tea party conservatives who comprise Cuccinelli's ardent army and control the state Republican Party machinery.

The endorsement means that the Republican public affairs firm of Marcus & Allen will dissolve. His partner, Ray Allen, said he's buying Marcus's shares of their 20-year-old business, which was the home base for Cantor's political campaigns. Allen will continue working with Cantor.

No TR the goal is to win the world series OR the election.
And as you noted there are TWO parties.
Guess we have work to do.
Wow another RINO being a RINO
The REAL Virginians are voting for a REAL Virginian. MacAuliffe is in fact... a criminal. He should share a cell with Bill, Hillary and Jon Corzine. Let alone anyone from Global Crossing scam.
Pump and dump, run and scum. No work Bill and Hill and their 50 mill in travel....TRAVEL?
The “consultant” in question resides in “Beltway Banditland” of the Virginia DC diaspora. The never-ending supply of client corp govt. contractors who sap our life blood, for our “safety” and our “productivity”... all the while they themselves could not run a soup kitchen for the homeless.
If you can— support Cuccinelli. Do not let this a-hole into office like the tick that crawls up your leg before you know it.
“Heads Democrat Tails Republican”
Which means, Heads they win, Tails we lose.
Note the difference between a political whore and a GOP strategist.
>> Anybody who thought the GOP-e was fundamentally different from the DemoRats should take note of this.
GOP-e politics is just another industry. Just another profit center. They’re no different (and, ethically, no better) than the tort lawyers’ industry. No ideology, no character, no righteousness, no morals are involved.
These are the worms that GOP have running their campaigns. They are either amoral and unprincipled or outright leftists. I’m glad he has revealed himself. We need to really start scrutinizing these “power players” more.
Shifty McAuliffe endorsed by GOPe ‘strategist’ - how not surprising. No one can say the GOPe and liberals aren’t in bed together even when it comes to national elections has we HAVE SEEN. We didn’t get in this position by accident - it was all by design.
Another muslim brotherhood inroad.
You win the prize!
It’s quite obvious some of these GOP “advisors” are democrat plants. The guys that worked on McCain’s campaign were clearly working for the other side. Palin was in their way, big time!
The Virginia GOP is beyond parody. I think the last vote I cast was Jim Miller vs. Capt. Crunch in a primary back in the 90’s.
Wait, Gilmore wasn’t sooo horrible.
Boyd Marcus generally worked for the most liberal Republican candidates...he is not respected in most GOP circles...and now we know Bolling’s consultant is a turn-coat, supporting the most liberal and unqualified of candidates. Wonder how much he was paid to sell his soul?
