The Daily Beast has a hit piece about Senator Ted Cruzs time at Princeton. Probably because hesCorner readers know whats coming next!an old friend of mine (in all subsequent posts Im just saying a.o.f.o.m. and linking to this one), Ive got a few more thoughts than it deserves:
1) The denouement of the poker story, of which I was wholly unaware, makes me like him a bit more, which was clearly not the intended effect.
2) The Beast needs to pick a story. Either he was well-liked or people thought he was creepy. (My own recollection tends toward the former but then it would.) Ive rarely heard of people getting both labels.
3) Liberal hit pieces on Cruz need to pick a story. Dana Milbank tells us Cruz is an opportunist pretending to be an ideologue; the Beast says hes always been a nutter.
4) So the Beast found some classmates of Cruz at Princeton who think hes too ideologically rigid to be a good president. (No doubt their own political views are delightfully eclectic.) So what?
5) Everyone you went to college with now counts as a colleague of yours?
What straight man would sit so cuddly-close to a known homosexual? Answer: none.
We have the first fag president.
First paragraph sounds like SOP for Freshman.
Second paragraph is the unusual, and shows Cruz’s character and his inherent value to America.
you missed all the best parties. Bummer.
well, i didn’t miss ALL of the partying
The naked hot tub in a snowstorm was most memorable
don’t get me wrong, it was still a lot of fun and a great time- but I am glad I missed MOST of that- it would not have worked out good for me, i am certain of it
My son went to a college that had a popular t-shirt that read: “You always take a class over again but you can never repeat an awesome party”.
Like: “No good story started with the title ‘It all started with a salad...’”....or something like that.
“We’re so wasted.”
Sooooooo very, very close. Bleah.
vaudine
Source of the critical comments is Craig Mazin a Hollywood screenwriter of such gems as Hangover II and Hangover III.
Yes, but was Cruz’s senior essay anywhere near as awesome as Michelle Obama’s senior essay?
