CAIRO Egyptian security officials detained the supreme leader of the Muslim Brotherhood early Tuesday, state media reported.
Officials said Mohammed Badie, 70, was captured in an apartment in the eastern Cairo district of Nasr City, the same place supporters of ousted President Mohammed Morsi held a six-week sit-in protest that was cleared by security forces last Wednesday. Morsi is a longtime leader of the Brotherhood.
Badies detention came after information came to the security apparatus locating his place of hiding, Reuters quoted the state news agency as saying.
The Associated Press described his arrest as a serious blow to the group at a time when authorities are cracking down on its leaders and mid-ranking officials, detaining scores of them across the country.

Should have been killed in a “shoot-out”
Bump! :-)
Singing, “Bad boys, Bad boys, what you gonna do when they come for you, Badie boys!”
Sometimes you just can't make this stuff up.
Badie detained by Sisi.
Just think of how PO’d Valerie (the POTUS) Jarrett is!!!
and Huma and Hitlery, too!!!
Love it! :-)
Egypt isn’t wimpy about extracting info. He’ll probably be able to provide a lot of info, names, where money came from, plans, etc.
Interesting, Mubarak was a stable leader and controlled the MB terrorists, but I heard his health was poor, has he recovered?
Such a brave leader/ not. His people are camped out, barricading themselves in the mosque - he’s HIDING in an apartment.
I honestly don’t know if he’s in better health, have read some but the articles didn’t say. From his condition before I doubt it but I guess it’s possible.
Hopefully Egypt’s next leader will have been influenced by him because he controlled radical Islamists.
Do you have this on he long thread?
The Saudis purchased his freedom by promising to replace any support that the military lost in international aid.
Have Obama, McCain, Kerry, and Clinton begun diplomatic efforts to secure his release yet? /WISH I was joking
Kill him. And find Zwahiri and kill him too. Then round up every MB leader worldwide and terminate their memberships.
Time for a Michael Corleone.
Nasser, Sadat and Mubarak were all serious about controlling the Muslim Brotherhood and the MB regularly made assassination attempts (one successful) on all three.
Egypt achieved stability in the last of Nasser's Presidency, and a strong lasting peace with Israel in Sadat's.
Mubarak was considered elderly and not in the best of health for some months before he was forced out of the Presidency, and his health immediately deteriorated severely.
What I suspect:
Immediately after being taken into custody, his health care was sabotaged so as to prevent his defending himself effectively in the MB Kangaroo court set up by Obama. This was the tactic used on the Serbian Slobodan Milosevic after he kept winning in spite of fabricated evidence in his trial. He died in custody.
What I don't know:
How badly Mubarak's health has been damaged.
They need to be referring to this guy in the past tense already.
