When the worst-case scenario happened and an operative for the Islamist Muslim Brotherhood, Mohamed Morsi, was elected president, Obama's secretary of state, Hillary Clinton, went to Cairo and personally coddled him.
When Morsi was then ousted by popular demand last month after abusing his powers and mismanaging the government, Obama swerved to the other side of the road, threatening to pull our $1.5 billion in aid and canceling a joint military exercise with the Egyptian army.
