PSA are put out by the Ad Council, a government propaganda arm that was created in WWII. It should be abolished. The government should not be in the business of picking “causes” to promote.

If you listen to most PSAs, they are thinly veiled “progressive” propaganda.

There are a few that most in the country would agree with, but those are in a definite minority.

The ad sponsor is the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence. So it isn’t a PSA in any sense of the acronym.

From their website:
“The Coalition to Stop Gun Violence (CSGV) is a 501(c)(4) organization that was founded in 1974. We seek to secure freedom from gun violence through research, strategic engagement and effective policy advocacy.

Our organizational structure is unique among national gun violence prevention organizations. CSGV is comprised of 47 national organizations working to reduce gun violence. Our coalition members include religious organizations, child welfare advocates, public health professionals, and social justice organizations. This diversity of member organizations allows us to reach a wide variety of grassroots constituencies who share our vision of non-violence.”

Along with a particularly large photo and quote of Sen. Chris Murphy D-CT on the site. Cute. Connecticut.
So they should tell Trayvon how he should have been “safe from gun violence” when he was a banger to begin with, with an illegal weapon proven to have been in his possession in Miami, at least.
