What effect will such a sign have on the likelihood of an armed robber targeting that store?
What effect will such a sign have on the likelihood of an anti-gun liberal shopping at that store?
What effect will such a sign have on the likelihood of a pro-gun conservative shopping at that store?
My guess is that those signs will have almost no positives in terms of deterring robbers or attracting liberal customers. My guess is that roughly 10% of shoppers would never enter such a store, whether or not they personally carry. I would love for every liberal store owner to follow the mayopr’s advice and try it.
I’m going to post a “CHL holders welcome here” at the front door of my law firm.
Yes Sir, you’ve got it. Post a “no fags” sign and wait two minutes before the lavender fur starts flying.
This was on the news the other night. One of the more idiotic things our beloved mayor has done lately.
Now for the Mayor to truly show how committed he is to this policy, he should post a sign on his front yard this is a gun free house.
Kind of put up or shut up.
Then stand by for the fun. either way it will be interesting. If he doesn’t put up the sign: hypocrocy
If he does put up the sign and doesn’t surround his house with 24 hour police protection, then watch the action
I appreciate the mayor helping me decide where to spend my money when I visit the downtown. These nice, helpful signs let me know which establishments won’t be getting my business.
Honestly, how long are these businesses going to stay afloat if they chase away all their customers except for the gay Hempfest hippies that don’t spend money anyway?
“Michael Medved”.
Let me guess - he thinks it’s an excellent idea?
I think the effect is obvious. The robber will take one look at the sign and say: "Darn! What rotten luck - this store is a gun free zone!" He'll then turn around, continue on his way, and look for a store with no such sign.
(Yes, I'm being sarcastic.)
Some years back, when CCW was first adopted in Texas, the liberal dingbats there promoted the same type of law. Gun owners went to those stores and handed them a small card that said something like: "Thank you for assuming all financial liablity for protecting me while shopping here. My attorney has been made aware of your policy, in the event I am hurt."
The signs came down prettly quickly.
Hold-up artists will love that!
not if you lie and shoot them dead in self defense
I’m sure that the armed criminals are reading and studying this world-shaking philosophical approach to stopped crime.
Then they are laughing themselves so silly that they piss in their pants, before changing them and going out to rob the stores who are so wisely participating in this act of self-destruction.
The mayor is nuts. Seattle is a nuthouse, and the whole state is run by Democrat wackos who are hellbent on destroying it as a nice place to live. (Only the rich Democrats don’t have to worry too much about crime as they live outside the city, on the Northside, or on Bainbridge Island, while the stoner students at the Un. of Seattle couldn’t give a shit because their minds are mush).
Yes, the inmates are running the asylumn and Mayor McGinn is the leader of this pack of lunatics.

Washington state uses the “Top Two” single primary scheme, which guarantees that most elections in November will feature one Hard Left Democrat running against another Hard Left Democrat.
In this case, McGinn is running against an openly gay state legislator who has superior financial and political support.
Believe it or not, McGinn and his opponent will spend the next two months trying to convince low information voters that “the other guy” is a Conservative!
