How redefining marriage threatens freedom of speech

Some months ago I somewhat reluctantly wrote on the subject of gay marriage. I argued at the time that the agenda of the gay lobby was not simply marriage equality but that the lobby (not individual gays) was preparing for an assault on religion. My concern has been borne out by an article by Dennis Altman, an internationally renowned academic and gay activist. In "Queer push for marriage", which appeared recently in the Australian Financial Review, Altman makes it clear that the real target for the gay lobby is religion.

I think Obama’s feeling the heat and he doesn’t deal with adversity well.

No he doesn't. He usually gets the IRS, EPA, NSA, TSA, and all the alphabet agencies after them. Do I think that the Rat minions would deliberately try to destroy people? Absolutely, positively, totally, completely, 100% yes, the dirty rotten bastar-- SOBs.

Gay "adultery" is an oxymoron.

Does not fit the definition of adultery.

Ergo gay "marriage" is an oxymoron too.

Gays will rewrite the dictionary and re-define "adultery".

I agree with you, most of us here do. We all KNOW that Obama has an ‘agenda’ but it's mind blowing that the Pubs seem to go along with him so often. Threats, fear, blackmail, don't know but something ‘ain't’ right anymore.

Don't say that! We are meant to fight against the dying of the light, in our own live and in that of our nation as a moral, free, rights-based republic. In the latter fight, we need as many people who recognize evil for what it is as possible. Whatever happens, we must not go down meekly. Fight!

I don't think what you said was selfish. I feel for you, and will say a prayer for you. I was just comparing the dying of the light for our bodies with the dying of the light for our nation. Against the former, it has been said, we should fight. I think we will have to fight as to the latter as well.

I would not be happy to leave this earth just so I didn't see our nation descend into tyranny. It would mean my kids and their children will live as controlled slaves. I would want to be here so I could do something to fight it, whatever I could. Even if we lose, someone has to pass on the memories of something better that could be.

Of course, you both gave correct observations, but I believe the civil union offer was necessary for the same reason that Lot had to offer his virgin daughters to the Sodomites— to show their utter depravity so that the judgments of God on them will be just.
