i remember one time i was jv and in tackling practice i was the target of the biggest meanest guy on varsity set hike and i get the ball but (wix) is jawing at someone on the side and i go flying by him and someone says hes gettin away and the chase was on (wix) is screaming he is going to kill me and ima running like a rabbit from the fifty to the goal posts circling back and (wix) is screaming we ran and everyone is screaming LOL half for me half for (wix) even the coaches we ran until (wix) had to stop and throw up
Later in life, I used to play full on pick up games at a local park (no pads). This was at a minimum of 8 on 8, but normally 11 on 11. There wasn’t a single week where someone didn’t get sent to the hospital. Never mind the “full on” tackle games I played on asphalt.
My roommate was the running back as they where set to score from the 8 yard line. I was the opposing linebacker. I knew as they did, that they had to run the ball.
My roommate took the ball as I expected and I dove in to fill the gap as I went for his ankles he clipped my face and went down. I picked up a huge welt on my face as he spun around and split his shorts in defeat.
On another note:
Have you ever stood in a line 20 feet away from another line of guys that fire off a “Frisbee” as hard and as fast as possible ? With the goal of catching the heat and eliminating the weak ?
