For these folks though, the cold temps are of small consequence compared to what they would have to deal with if the temps were like California.
I remember when we were stationed at Fort Riley, KS during the 70s the weather report said it was warmer in Alaska that winter then it was in Kansas. Also I told my husband I wouldn’t mind living there, because I had heard from friends how beautiful it is. He didn’t want to hear about it
Pretty dark in the depths of the winter. That's more of an issue to me.
I was in Fairbanks in the Summer on a 100 deg. F day. It was HOT.
