I’m a cyclist, but I sure couldn’t be as nice to this jackwagon as the victims family is. I’d lock his ass up for at least a couple of years.

Ditto, another cyclist here.

We had a guy hit some chick on the Katy Trail here in Dallas couple of years ago, she died. Jogger wearing her earbuds stopped in the middle of the trail and did a 180 without considering there might be bike traffic approaching from behind. Pretty much a tragedy, they let the guy off. I can’t help thinking he was probably going too fast, I ride that trail sometimes and it is always packed with people walking their dogs and jogging and such. Still, it is sad that girl died.

I ran over a kid one time. I was on the White Rock Lake trail, not being too much of a nuisance but I saw this kid on a bike (like 5-6 maybe, and all alone) riding toward me. He zigged one way, I tried to go the other and he went that way so I zagged and he swerved right into my path. I knocked him over backwards, felt like a total schmuck, but in all honesty that young boy should have been towing a parent to keep him out of trouble. And I should have slowed down, but I didn’t, so I was a schmuck I guess.

I got him up and dusted him off and away he went. I never saw an adult that might have been his, and he didn’t seem hurt, but I still remember it 30 years later.

But I know how city cyclists can be on the street, they often treat pedestrians the way cars treat them. Sounds to me like this cat was in the wrong and deserves any punishment he gets.
