It draws 11.8 million viewers as well as the summer's top demo score for any series on TV

A&E had the competition ducking for cover Wednesday, as its redneck reality smash Duck Dynasty kicked off its new season with a whopping 11.8 million viewers the largest audience ever for a non-fiction cable series.
The show about a Louisiana family also set an A&E record as the biggest telecast in the networks history in all key demos.
In adults 18-49, Duck Dynasty did a huge 5.0 rating (roughly 6.3 million viewers in the age group), up 26% from last year and a higher same-night rating than any series telecast on television since an April 15 episode of NBCs The Voice.
The only cable reality show to ever draw more adults 18-49 was TLCs Jon & Kate in June 2009 (6.5 million).
Among adults 25-54, Duck Dynasty drew 6.3 million viewers to top the previous cable reality record set by Trading Spaces nearly 10 years ago.
A&E is certainly striking while the iron is hot, as this is the fourth season of Duck Dynasty even though the show first premiered less than 18 months ago.
When it bowed in March 2012, it drew a ho-hum 1.81 million viewers, but that increased with its second season in October of last year (3.94 million) and then more than doubled when it opened season three in February of this year (8.62 million).
The third season of Duck Dynasty averaged 8.4 million total viewers, up 95% compared to season two. It is cables top reality program this year, and the No. 2 original series overall, behind only AMC juggernaut The Walking Dead.
Thanks in large part to Duck Dynasty, A&E ranked among the top five cable networks in both adults 18-49 and 25-54 for the second quarter of this year rising 17% in both categories while placing sixth in total viewers (up 19%).
Duck Dynasty was far and away the No. 1 program in all categories, including adults 18-49 (7.51 million or 5.9 rating) and total viewers (13 million), according to live-plus 7 Nielsen data.
Hey, they ain’t nothin’ but a bunch’a Crackas. If you like them, you must be racist.
If you don’t like them, then that would be “facial” profiling.
Very well said. The majority of Americans long for wholesome tv shows with good morals and messages. How long will it take for Hollyweird to grasp this concept, if ever?
Hollywood is comprised of fags and liberals with a liberalcentric way of thinking, so they produce TV shows where the Dad is a dumbass, the Son is a fag, the Daughter is a slut and Mom is the smart one. (And a liberal, of course.)
Meanwhile, their shows don’t draw flies.
Then, a cable channel puts on a show about a family with traditional values and it is a huge success, yet the Hollywood fags remain in denial and continue to write and broadcast their homo agenda and can’t figure out why it bombs.
Or in this case Quackas....yuk, yuk, yuk. I stole that from a comment from another version of the story.
Pingers to some of the Quinn and Rose group.
I never heard of it. What is it? Is it likely to be coming my way (UK) soon?
The thing is Hollywierd/TV has been doing this for decades. There was a huge purge of normal family/rural programming in the early '70's. At least for me TV went over the cliff after that.
Admittedly some weren't exactly standouts in the areas of writing or acting.
I wonder what Newton Minnow thinks about TV today. For younger FReepers he was former Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission back in the day. He was and still is a very active democrat attorney.
Over 50 years ago he became famous for declaring TV was a "vast wasteland." I believe the purge happened after that.
Well thanks to him and his party look what his vast wasteland has become.
Bet he hates DD.
Just keep an eye on ‘More4’ or ‘Dave’ or ‘Quest’. :)
FWIW here's a link to the website. Not sure if it's allowed in the UK but the website streams some of the episodes.

Some more info.
The Robertsons have built a multi-million dollar sporting empire manufacturing duck calls in Monroe, Louisiana and have earned a seat in homes across the country with their special brand of downhome practicality, southern charm and sharp sense of humor.
Happy, happy, happy! And that’s a fact Jack!
There must be some unusual but wholesome black families they could do some shows about...I’m not trying to be funny... that they could do a reality show that might be an inspiration to a hurting black community. Will and Jada Smith seem to have a good thing going on...from accounts I’ve heard..but I might be wrong.
Thanks for the ping!
The shows popularity extends beyond TV. At a recent Walmart meeting, the company announced that Duck Dynasty T-shirts were the best sellers in its mens, womens and boys sections.
Discovery channel is full of no-fags shows that are guy oriented. I really like their gold mining reality series, even the dumbass Jungle Gold guys. Property Wars is very entertaining too and is no-fags oriented. Also Deadliest Catch and other shows in Alaska buying Alaska vacation homes and the Alaska homesteaders, the Kilcher families
Discovery channel and Fox news is what I watch most
One show on The Weather Channel caught my fancy as well. Admittedly Iceberg Hunters is stupid and the son is kinda faggy but it's fun to watch his Dad and Uncle bust on him.
That's the only thing I watch on TWC BTW.
Was I ever wrong. This is some of the funniest stuff on TV. Family friendly too. I have counted one beep (censor) in the entire 3 seasons. (After Willie saw the loading dock flooded).
It is a great show that is everything that hollywood isn't.
This episode was one of their best ever. Even bumbling Si makes you question whether he’s really as dumb as he pretends, or if he may actually be smarter than all of them and is hiding behind a thick layer of deceptive cleverness.
If 76% of black babies are bastards, how many "wholesome black families" are there?
With all of the TV commercials that show so many blacks, every wholesome black must be a TV star.
TV commercials must have been what trayvon was referring to with his, "No Limit Nigga" handle.
I have two of them and was wearing one while shopping in Walmart. A girl came up to me, complimented me on the shirt, said she loved it, and asked where she could get one. Pointed her right over to the men’s clothing section.
Both are Uncle Si on the front with one saying “I brought the awesome, Jack. What did you bring?” The other says, “I’m like an owl. I don’t give a hoot.”
