McALLEN — The injured driver who faces six counts of murder when he’s released from the hospital was arrested last week on stolen vehicle and marijuana charges, jail booking records show.

Hector Guadalupe Ramirez, 18, is set to face the six counts of murder after the Texas Department of Public Safety obtained a warrant for his arrest on Wednesday, the agency said in a statement.

Monday’s chase was the second time in a week that the Roma man found himself behind the wheel of a stolen vehicle, authorities said.

Mission police arrested Ramirez on Aug. 5 after he admitted to U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Roma International Bridge that he’d stolen a Jeep that he was attempting to cross into Mexico, interim Mission police Chief Robert Dominguez said.

CBP stopped Ramirez at the Roma International Bridge on Aug. 5 upon noticing the Jeep had no key in its ignition, Dominguez said. Police returned the vehicle to its owner that day.

Ramirez was formally charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle — a state jail felony — and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. He was booked Aug. 6 at the Hidalgo County Jail and immediately released after paying a percentage of his $25,000 bond, jail officials said.

“These are two particular incidents,” Dominguez said. “Who knows how many he’s gotten away with before — and at only 18 years old? It’s one of those situations where the youths of today, where they want the easy money.

“They want the easy money and unfortunately, things like this happen.”

Doesn’t murder while in the act of committing another crime become Capital Murder? Doesn’t that open up the death penalty?

Just dreaming the dream. I guess since he didn’t forge more than three passports it will be forgiven.

If nancy pelosie’s grandchildren were mowed down and murdered she would still find it in her heart to vote for amnesty.

What say you Boehner? Or is the money you stand to get to powerful?
