A look at ObamaCare's significant, widespread and very real problems

ObamaCare is poised to “destroy the foundation of the 40 hour work week that is the backbone of the American middle class.” And that’s the president’s supporters talking.

The dire warning came last month in a letter from three of the nation’s most influential union bosses to Democratic leaders in Congress.

“The unintended consequences of the ACA [Affordable Care Act] are severe,” the labor leaders bemoaned. “Perverse incentives are already creating nightmare scenarios.”

Specifically, they noted, “the law creates an incentive for employers to keep employees’ work hours below 30 hours a week, and many of them are doing so openly. The impact is two-fold: fewer hours means less pay while also losing our current health benefits.”

The White House maintains that such concerns, originally raised by analysts at The Heritage Foundation and elsewhere before ObamaCare was signed into law, are purely chimerical.

Those news reports of employers cutting workers’ hours to escape the ObamaCare mandate? Not to worry, the administration says soothingly, it’s merely “anecdotal.” Yet anecdotal reports are becoming increasingly frequent—indicating that a wave of reductions in workers’ hours may well be in the offing.

For example, reporters from NBC recently interviewed nearly 20 employers around the country, from fast-food franchises to colleges, and found that “almost all said that because of the new law they’d be cutting back hours for some employees.”

This is just the latest piece of evidence indicating that ObamaCare is unfair, unaffordable and unworkable. Consider some other recent news items:

And the nasty, selfish, cruel, cheap, and uncaring people who accurately predicted just this, were criticized and vilified for their trouble.
Does anyone else out there feel awful because we have been proven to be right all along?
Thousands of us, without fancy educations, struggling to keep even small businesses alive, realized instantly what the end result of Obamacare would be, but who did we think we were to speak against the greatest thing ever?

All part of the plan to institute single-payer.

When will America wake up to the fact that this country is being "governed" by shameless, perverse, arrogant Marxist liars?

I feel awful that so few were blind to the obvious.

As intended. Who will stop it? Surely not the butt-kissing RINO cowards who call themselves Republicans.

Hate to say it (again) but I’m afraid you’re right and the RATS are doing all this intentionally so the federal gov’t can walk in and take it all over. Don’t put anything past them....

Obamacare exemplifies the delusional mindset of the liberal academic. Why would anyone who really thought about it think that having a bunch of medically inexperienced Congressional aides and technical writers, likely including a fair number of recent university graduates, draft a gargantuan law that attempts to control the complexities associated with human illness would be a good idea? Really.

The thing is that these people actually believe that they are really extraordinary and can see things in every area of life that the rest of us just don't see as well as them. It's delusional and dangerous.

The problem of employers reducing hours from 40 to 29 is not an “unintended consequence.” It was a deliberate ploy to turn employees against their employers and demand MORE federal control.

"What exactly is single payer?"

Single payer means the end of private insurance companies and the implementation of a totally government-run and government-funded (taxpayer-funded) system.

The government massively taxes everyone to fund healthcare and then they decide when, where, how and how much you get and then they pay the medical provider... IOW communist healthcare.

The only people that can stop Obamacare...is us, we the people!!! Simple as that, one signature and endorsement at a time turns into millions if only they will act!!! We are standing by as Obama destroys this once great country!!! Sad.....when so many Americans, past & present gave their lives for our freedom, independence, liberty & opportunity!!! Now.....in the America of today, they are frightened of tyrant Obama to the point they will do nothing, as he purposely destroys the economy and nation itself!!! Senators Lee & Cruz are right on!!!

(WWW.DONTFUNDOBAMACARE.COM) Any profiles-in-courage out there today???

National Health care. Doctor sends bill directly to govt. Govt. (meaning the taxpayer) pays it. Insurance companies out of the loop.
