The Movie Reviews
"The Outrage" - A Wild-West remake of Kurosawa's "Rashomon"
With Paul Newman, William Shatner, Edward G. Robinson, Claire Bloom, Laurence Harvey, Howard Da Silva, Albert
Salmi, Paul Fix
1964, Not Rated, 97 minutes
A prospector (Da Silva) in the outskirts of town discovers the body of a man (Harvey) who was stabbed. A notorious
Mexican criminal (Newman) is accused of the murder and the rape of the dead man's wife (Bloom), but three or four
witnesses come forth during the trial, each with a different version of what happened. Meantime, at the railway station,
a preacher (Shatner) and a con man (Robinson) discuss the incident with the prospector and try to solve the murder. It
was a total classic. The cast alone was worth sitting through the story.
★★★★
"Bullet to the Head"
With Sylvester Stallone, Sung Kang, Jason Momoa, Christian Slater, Sarah Shahi, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Holt
McCallany, Jon Seda, Brian Van Holt
2012, Rated R for Strong violence, bloody images, language, nudity and drug use, 91 minutes, NOT APPROPRIATE
FOR CHILDREN OF ANY AGE
In an unlikely pairing, a hitman (Stallone) and a New York cop (Kang) team up in New Orleans to take out the syndicate
boss who had their respective partners killed by his own thug (Momoa). When word gets to the criminal (Akinnuoye-
Agbaje) that the two men are zeroing in on him and his corrupt dealings, he investigates Stallone's life in order to get back
at him. The critics hated this movie, but we thought it had a great twisty-turny plot with plenty of humor among the blood,
a satisfying buddies-at-odds story. I like Stallone and Kang, so all the better. And come on! Jason Momoa. Nuff said.
