The National Geographic is notorious for its liberal, left-wing perspective and the article is rife with unstinting support for the rights of practitioners in the indulgence of abomination and depravity to be accorded equality with the rest of the human race.

This report on the state in which gays are deemed more than merely pariahs but as innocent victims subjected to punishment of draconian extremes is characterized by the cringing lamentation of sorrow and tragedy on the repercussions to those who engage in acts of lasciviousness that is pervasive throughout the article.

As the saying goes, one man's ceiling is another man's floor. Some societies as reprehensible as they may be have the capacity to be instructive in the emulation of.

They missed one....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gay_rights_in_Saudi_Arabia

Homosexuality is frequently a taboo subject in Saudi Arabian society and is punished with imprisonment, corporal punishment and capital punishment.

Capital Punishment = DEATH

Gee, and people think the Saudis don;t have any control over anythign in the media, Let’s Check Dubai...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGBT_rights_in_the_United_Arab_Emirates

Sexual relations outside of a traditional, heterosexual marriage are a crime. Punishments range from jail time, fines, deportation, and the death penalty.

Gee, never hear any liberal whine about the above two countries....

The Saidis and other oil arabs practically OWN the damned media these days,...

Putin doesn’t want queers to have control of the culture like they do here. I respect him for not caving in.

I think Russia is right on their anti gay propaganda law. Public expression of sexual behavior has never even in this country received blanket protection. Obscenity was never protected speech in this country and it was with the weakening of anti obscenity and anti pornography statutes that the ground work for the mess we deal with today began. We have seen what tolerance gets us and though I don’t support violence I can not blame other countries for looking at what has happened here with alarm and disgust and with a desire to prevent the same happening in their nations.

What about Indonesia, the most populous muslim country in the world...

But Iran doesn't need any laws banning homosexuals. Remember when Ahm-a-nut-job told us that there are no homosexuals in Iran?

File this under completely irrelevant comments.

In 2011, I was doing independent contract work for an Israeli company. The surveys we did showed that more than 70% of Russian Jews approved of Putin and the job he was doing. Putin is well-liked by Russians of all stripes regardless of the Soros and US State Department (Hillary) propaganda that is sometimes posted here by a small clique of FReeper useful idiots.

It would be reasonably safe to say all muzzlem countries should be on the list. But we aren’t allowed to say it that way. We have to list every one and not give the reason. See how many people can make the connection on their own.

All civilized countries have anti sodomy laws.

what appears to be Moscow's increasing anti-gay posture

I just became aware of Obozo's gay proclivities.

But no doubt, Putin knows all about it. Could it be that Putin is tightening the screws on our glorious leader? (OGL) And laughing in the privacy of the Kremlin?

A new Russian law that criminalizes "propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations among minors" has sparked growing calls from the global gay community and its supporters for a boycott of Russia's upcoming Winter Olympics...

Protecting children from sodomites is now, according to the National Geographic, adopting an "anti-gay posture".

Maybe the folks at NG would like their children to be exposed to sodomy. I'll keep any kids I am responsible for away from it.

They’ll be gone soon, just like TIME magazines. The majority of countries it lists as being ‘progressive’ are all either stagnant or backsliding.

While I have no support for death penalties in these Islamic countries, the Russian law is very common sense.

LOL. Why is it “anti-gay”? It is against gay recruiting minors and a punishment is not even stern enough.
So, we have Russian cops ticketing homosexuals at some $100 for wearing obviously insulting outfit celebrating perversion and in Saudi Arabia they are beheading homosexuals having sex in their own bedrooms.
There is an outrage?
