The Tenaha police and any cops like them are nothing more than bandits with badges.
And any law abiding citizen treating these criminals as the bandits they are would not offend me in the least.

There are arguments to be made for and against current forfeiture laws.In certain circumstances the police should be able to seize...TEMPORARILY...cash and other things of value pending criminal investigation. The law should read that criminal charges that are *connected* to the cash/things seized must be filed within 15 business days of seizure. If such charges are not filed the cash/things must be returned. And if it’s returned within that time all costs incurred by the “owner” must be reimbursed by the state/county/city/town involved.

Good story. And a very incomplete one.
This asset forfeiture has been in common LEO use for many years.
Heck, I-75 down through Tenn. and Georgia was not much more than a money trap for tourists and travelers for years.
This is corruption done under color of the badge.

The government has very few responsibilities and “takings” for things that have nothing to do with their real duties should never be allowed.
Taking someones’ house to build a 7-Eleven might be “Constitutional” according to SCOTUS but its not if you are sane.
