We Can’t Wait … To Nominate Another Lobbyist

"John McCain can't see or won't acknowledge what's obvious to all of us here today -- that lobbyists aren't just part of the system in Washington, they're part of the problem."

-- Then-Sen. Barack Obama campaigning in Montana, May 19, 2008.

President Obama wants to place a new tax on your monthly cell phone bill to pay for his plan to put WiFi in more classrooms. And all he needs to do it is one more lobbyist in his administration.

Getting American consumers to cough up the billions needed for Obama's "ConnectEd" initiative doesn't depend on Congress or anything so tedious as winning bipartisan support. The president's initiative instead rests squarely on his ability to push through the nomination of Tom Wheeler, a telecommunications lobbyist and Obama campaign bundler, to head the Federal Communications Commission.

Taxes should be passed by Congress. Not FCC chairman's who bundled for Obama...

Frontpage because Obama is bypassing Congress to create new taxes...

Didn't Algore and Bubba Klintoon put a tax on our phone bills for installing internet in all the schools? Now we get to pay again and forever???

God, please make it stop.

Obama would Dissolve the Senate and house if he could get away with it and find someone else to blame, the only reason he keeps congress around is because he can divert a share of blame to congress for his own failings....

Anyone know if the House can object to this somehow?

Seems like it is unconstitutional...

The FCC Chairman should not have the power to pass new taxes!!!???

Why don’t they just fund it with the REA funds they been
using to fund network infrastructure for decades?

Iam already paying a tax for it. Plus the freaking Obama phones. ENOUGH!

Hmmmn! What will students do with wifi?

Social networking, shopping, & viewing/posting porn on their smart phones? Eyes on phones rather than on the teacher. Nah, that would never happen.

Really, almost everybody is a lobbyist out there selling himself in one form or another.

It’s a great deal for politicians. Some companies lobby for favors and other lobby for protection. It’s a racket. It isn’t the lobbyists’ fault. It’s ours for voting in big government. If government did not have so much power, people would not be there trying to influence politicians.

Unfortunately the headline doesn’t do this justice. If you’re reading this thread and haven’t read the article, you really need to do this to get the full impact of what nobama’s trying to do.

I won’t get into why Congress is not jumping up and down to block this illegality. Wouldn’t do any good.
