. Federal law says that people born outside the U.S. to a parent or parents who are citizens and who have lived in the country are considered citizens at birth.
Cruz is eligible. His mother is American, his father became an American citizen before Cruz was born. Cruz has lived in the US since he was 4 yrs old and would bet any court would give him the well deserved green light to run.

No, his father didn't become a citizen until 2005
