Civil War 1.0 started with the rebel attack on Fort Sumter on April 12th. The first MAJOR battle of the war, between armies in the field, did not occur until July, three months later.

Between those two events, there were minor skirmishes and limited battles, as both sides mustered their forces and jockeyed for position.

Folks, that is what we're watching now. The Zimmerman Trial was our Fort Sumter. All these black-on-white beatdowns are the minor skirmishes. And they're leading up to the first major battle of Civil War 2.0.
