It’s good. And healthy to boot, not that I worry too much about that. It’s big hit at my dinner parties.......even people who have never eaten “greens” love it prepared that way.

We had friends and neighbors from Alabama and she sure knew how to fix all sorts of “greens”. Her fried chicken was out of this world, too. LOL!
My recipe is almost the same. I don’t use garlic and I add a good swag of paprika to the chicken broth.
There is a Portuguese/Northern Spanish soup called berzas that has berzas (a breed of kale), chorizo, beans, potatoes,and a few other things depending on the family recipe. The paprika gives the kale a nice smoky flavor like the chorizo does in the soup.
