I wasn't going to spend $300 on a bag just because it was a <> bag, but her tone ticked me off and I said, "Fine. Let me see it please." She got it down for me, and indeed, I wasted her time and attention, because she had to keep her eyes on that expensive bag instead of the other customers...and I didn't buy it of course.
Ditto-except in my case, it was a jewelry store, and I WAS going to buy the rare jemstone I was looking for, if they had deigned to produce it.
Looking back, it was my once in a lifetime “Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman moment” (before the movie was made), when I tracked down my large walking bank vault,walked back to the store, and flashed the cash I had meant to spend on a rarely asked for and very expensive item!
