The TV, the schools, the internet, and a lot of bad "music".

Minimal Parental involvement, and extended family too far away to have a positive influence.

“...and extended family too far away to have a positive influence.”

I tend to agree with that. Lot’s of snowbirds hardly ever see their grandchildren.

Many Americans stopped going to church. (mentioned in the article)
By going to church I don’t mean just on Easter and Christmas. I mean every week, and giving of time and treasure.

What do parents tell their children is the hallmark of a successful life? Why are we here? Is it to live to have a nice lakeside retirement home? Is it to send our children to daycare to be raised by strangers? Is it to raise kids to get into an ivy league college? To be the next Steve Jobs, Warren Buffett? Is it to spend a life of leisure courtesy of the American taxpayer?

Life has one singular purpose, and if you follow it, you will find happiness forever. Give Glory to God in all that you do and you will want for nothing. We have forgotten. We have kicked Him out of our schools, out of our courts, out of our music, out of our homes and out of our hearts. Only when we allow ourselves to remember the reason for our being and teach our children where we come from will our historical course be righted.

Pray for our nation. Only God can save us.
