(from
another article) During the meeting someone from the "community" suggested raising taxes to accomodate all pet projects:
I can sit here and be very popular and say yes, but I am not going to because I dont believe we need to raise taxes, said Gimenez, whose statement was followed by jeers from the audience.

Why stop there? All juvenile delinquents should be give a thousand dollars for each violent offense - and have a street named after them. I'm sure there won't be unintended consequences to such perverse incentives... nope, it'll create first class citizens. (If you live in hell that is...)

one of the reasons Trayvon got into trouble was because he was suspended. So, how good of job is that cart doing pulling the horse along.

If it contains every book he’d ever read would it need to be larger than a file folder?

But Baby Trayvon spoke 18 languages, invented fire and the wheel and was on the verge of curing all known diseases. How could he be suspended?

Florida must be one big insane asylum with the inmates running the place. Maybe there is something in the water out there ... I don't know but lunacy seems to be their operating level.
Is Florida trying to catch up to California for the #1 lunatic state race?

She proposed that the library remain open and named the Trayvon Martin Memorial LibraryThat's the ticket.
Name the library for someone who never set foot in one, or ever would much less be able to spell it.
Citizens would be better served by naming the juvenile hall after him or the detention room in the high school where he spent so much of his time.
To: KarlInOhio
He got in trouble because he got suspended,
He got suspended because he was a thief and drug dealer.
I guess it makes sense to some people to name a Library after a Thief, Drug Dealer and attempted murderer.
Only in a black community could this happen. Free Mumia.

Might as well dedicate the library to a thief, they elected someone whose resume’ wasn’t much different.

Trayvon Martin library? Kind of ironic. Many young black stay away from libraries so as not to be accused by their peers of “acting white.”

This is what happens over the years when you have Northeastern liberals retiring to the Southern states.

it would have to be named the “Travon Martin Liberry”. Library did not exist in Travon’s vocabulary.

KarlInOhio ~:" So, how good of job is that cart doing pulling the horse along."
EXACTLY !!
To save future Trayvon immitators we should eliminate school safety police :
therefore no police crime reports
therefore all graffitti goes unpunished
therefore no bookbag checks for weapons , drugs , or jewelry
therefore no burglary tools while comming or going to school
therefore no record of assaults, or problems on the school busses
therefore no school suspensions ,.. not that the parents would have noticed anyway
therefore there would be no drug problem in the schools - because it would go unnoticed
.. and the world would remain "peachey-keen" amid the chaos !!
Trayvon is responsible for his own actions and his own history , even dispite the "sanitizing " of his family record by lawyers
two publicists , a politically involved advertizing exectutive, and a "social engineering lawyer", et al.
Trayvon was suspended because of his troubles that went unnoticed by family.
You are right ! They have the cart before the horse !
