I think we should fight the war on drugs until we win. What do you say? A few more decades and and 2-3 trillion more? Or at least until the cartels and street gangs declare a truce and that they have enough assets and income, thank you very much.

The war on drugs is in a way a war on people making dumb self destructive decisions “for their own good”....

I would say you don’t need a war on drugs if people stopped feeding the drug users via federal programs and society shamed the usage of drugs instead of glorified them through movies and music and the media.

When we come tot he day when a parent steps over a passed out druggie inthe street and their child asks what is wrong with that man, instead of saying “society doesn’t care about him” instead the parent says “That is where people who use drugs end up at”... We will have evolved to a far better individualist and robust culture.

There are people out there who think the US would be nothing but a chaotic, murderous hellhole if drugs were legal. Don’t try to confuse them with the fact that 100 years ago all drugs were legal and we found a way to muddle through.

Yes, they should start handing out crack in 3rd grade and meth in 6th grade and mandatory gay sex in class by 8th grade.

Would make the freaking libertarians so happy.

agree, with 3rd para, but still cheaper to treat than to prevent. I like ostracizing.

If you have seen the thread on the guy in La Jolla who just wants to surf and not work and gets food stamps, we should treat him the same way and NO funds.

No, drug usage should not be encouraged at all, it should be socially acceptable to shun the drug users, legally they shouldn’t be locked up soley for using drugs, but only locked up for their illegal actions even if they aare on drugs. For instance if someone commits and assault while high you prosecute them for assault and maye even add a charge for “assault while intoxicated” being high should be an extra burden on existing chages and definately NOT an excuse for getting away with an in fraction.

I didn’t say drug users should be locked up.

I did say that drug legalization pushers are utopian morons that lack the brains God gave a gadfly.

Maybe we can just take your war on drugs to some kind of logical conclusion for you. Can we just have you put a bullet in the head of all drug abusers or is there some kind of erotic need being filled by dragging out the punishment with the current system?

I said I didn't think drug users should be locked up.

Unless your defending the libertarian idea of providing hard drugs to children and getting them in bed too?

Odd...I don’t know any libertarians who want to give grade school kids drugs and have sex with them. Wait, I see what you did there! You sure are clever! Don’t break your arm patting yourself on the back for that.

The issue I have with drug legalisation people are they still want to bail out bad behavior, it is the issue I have with most self described libertarians, they want the freedom of being a libertarian along with the safety net that comes with big government progressivism.

They want their damn cake and to eat it too. And you cannot do that.

Personally I think that if you shoot someone who is high in the course of self defense it should never devolve to the case of travon vs. George Zim.

and of course St. Skittles was high as a kite on DXM.

I watched TV news when there was a “scare” at a pot festival in Colorado, it is amazing how many pothead morons brought their children. Disgusting.

The dims will be pandering their 2016 campaign to the youth vote very similar to their "War on Women" strategy.

Two hot button issues for that age group will be pot legalization or at least relaxing the enforcement policies and the other will be student loan relief

The pot thing is really losing steam as an issue. With Medicinal and flat out legalization becoming more commonplace, the real issue will be if Hussein/Holder ramp up enforcement again in “legal” states like they have before. That hurt them with their hard lefty troops.

Student loans are a hot button for a hell-of-a-lot more than just the lefty youth vote.
