A feisty online rant that compared undocumented immigrants to Satan cost a top Wisconsin state official his job after the virtual tirade went viral and caused an uproar among Latinos and state lawmakers.

Hispanics/Latinos support criminal illegal aliens from Mexico? But the neocons told us these people are hard working law abiding conservatives?
Do not speak bad about the millions who enter our country illegally and have absolutely NO respect for our borders, sovereignty, laws or rules.
Speaking to the Journal Sentinel before his firing, Krieser said that he had taken down the rant from Facebook and emphasized that he didn't write the post on state time or on a state computer.
He's supposed to lose his First Amendment rights because he's a state employee? If I were Kreiser, I'd file suit against the state for a very large sum.
I’m sorry my FRiend, but his tirade was stupid.. Satan? Really?
He is a politician for heaven sake, do you really want a lose cannon in a highly visible office, in the party, to shoot his mouth off like that, on line no less???
Good for Walker, he is the grown-up in the party, it tells the others that we are still in a fight for our lives..
I think he made the right decision (in this case). Public officials should not compare illegal immigrants to Satan. This makes the debate emotional and accomplishes nothing.
Then post was not on state time or on state property. End of story. He ought to sue the state and see if they can disprove his theory:)
He should have compared the GOP to Satan. Might have had a lot of backing.

I think you are finally catching on! /sarc
Public officials should not compare illegal immigrants to Satan.

No one ever said they should.
The fact that he was almost instantly fired for a moment of indiscretion is absured.
Compare him to Mayor Bob Filner of San Diego — who is still in office.
I despise Walker for what he did. He could have suspended, reprimanded, or even demoted him — but FIRING him (without even a chance to defend himself)? Despicable.
They aren’t immigrants. They are illegal aliens.

No news in that: That is merely part of the daily hum of the MSM and the Leftist blogosphere.

In a fight for your life, you do not “kill” your friends.
My man in Texas...
They arent immigrants. They are illegal aliens.

Funny that distinction — once so clear — seems so lost to so many these days!

Back at you! ;-)
Walker has no authority over Filner. Nor do I believe Filner should be in office.

Valid points.
My point, however, was to try to point out the gaping disparity between the relative sins and relative punishments credited to the two men.
In a sense, the fellow in WI was meted out an instant death sentence for saying something less than discreet. Filner, on the other hand, is still in office after manhandling who-knows-who women.
And very few seem even able to see such things. And, in reality, I do believe Walker grossly overreacted out of a concern for his own political hide.
