Why can't people live where they want to live? It's a free country, right? Not according to Barack Obama. With new policies coming out of Obama's Department of Housing and Urban Development, the "diversity" of each neighborhood in the country will be tracked, and if the area does not meet the "standards" established by his cronies, cities and businesses could face consequences.
As reported by CNSNews.com, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) "has published a new fair-housing regulation intended to give people access to better neighborhoods than the ones they currently live in."
The goal is to help communities understand "fair housing barriers" and "establish clear goals" for "improving integrated living patterns and overcoming historic patterns of segregation."
*This proposed rule represents a 21st century approach to fair housing, a step forward to ensuring that every American is able to choose to live in a community they feel proud of • where they have a fair shot at reaching their full potential in life,• said HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan.
First of all, the fact that we even throw around the phrase "fair housing" is crazy. Fair housing? No one is telling you where you can and can't live. That is determined by the geographic and economic conditions of the individual. And yet, those on the left are determined to socially engineer this country... even down to determining the racial balance of a neighborhood.
Investor's Business Daily reports: "Now even ZIP codes are racist, and according to this race-obsessed administration, you're racist for living in a suburban area with little public housing. And it plans to change that."
In what may be the most ambitious social-engineering project undertaken by the federal government, the administration is mapping every neighborhood in America by race. The stated purpose is to use the data to compel local officials to loosen zoning laws and build more public housing, thereby offering more poor inner-city minorities better opportunities for housing and education.
But the unstated purpose is forced racial integration. The suburbs are just too white for Obama and his race-mongering social engineers. They think they "geospatially discriminate" against minorities, never mind that more and more middle-class blacks are flocking to them on their own.
The ham-handed government project is led by the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Last week it proposed new rules requiring counties and other entities receiving federal grant dollars to "affirmatively further fair housing" in the suburbs for minorities. Grantees who fail to comply will be denied federal funding.
Basically what the HUD policy intends to do is force neighborhoods into what it believes is "racial balance" by providing government funds to move people from the inner cities to the suburbs. So, for a city, why set aside land for new businesses when you can build a government housing project? That's what Obama and HUD want.
No one is telling you where you can and can't live. And yet the Obama administration doesn't see that as freedom. It sees it as oppression. If your area is not racially diverse on its own, Obama will make it so. That's the whole idea of his diversity police, and it's coming to a neighborhood near you.

“Fair Housing”,,,,translation,,,,No where to escape, because Big Brother is watching you,,,,,,IRS, NSA, Politically correct College Professors, union inspired educators, I’d ask if the work camps or conventration camps are far behind, but WORK is not intheir repertiore and the ghettos they have created in Detroit, and now Chicago are already the concentrated results of their unnatural selection of leaderless people. Creation of the permanent underclass is well underway and, just think, you'll become an integral part of it.
So there’s no longer a right to freedom of association? The idiot is doing all he can to push us to the brink of a civil war.
Most people have interpreted this as leading to some sort of mega-Section 8 program or Son of Bussing. This is NOT about actually moving people into ‘discriminatory’ neighborhoods. It is about setting the predicate for lucrative suits against targeted communities. It is about redlining a community and assigning joint culpability to the residents for the community’s ‘discrimination’ and exacting appropriate tribute. It is about ‘reparations’.
With the usual "procedural multipliers" of course.
If anyone ever needed proof that the government is way too large, then this is it. How many jobs will Hussein "create" (you better be black enough if you want one) to check every neighborhood for a politically correct percentage of blacks and illegal aliens?

If EVERYONE would list their race as something other than white, this could not happen.
97.8% white and my black neighbor says he likes it that way because he can raise his kids to be responsible adults without gang or race baiting influences.
Sadly I do believe that a revolt will be coming in our lifetimes.
It’s pretty simple. People moved away from the cities when they became unsafe, crime-ridden cesspools. All law-abiding people want is a safe environment to raise their families. Period.
My suburban neighbors are Korean next door, a German on the other side, a Mexican family across the street, and a black family on the corner. Oh, and then there’s the openly lesbian lady up the street a bit.
But we all have the same goal; to live in a safe neighborhood where crime is virtually unheard of. It has nothing to do with race, it’s all about being a responsible citizen.
This is somewhat like the poll that was taken in South Africa last year. 66% of the respondents said they wished a return to the Afrikaans’ minority rule.
Excellent....every FORM you fill out that says “Race or Ethnicity”, check “Black”.....there is NO WAY they can discriminate against you in the future, and they have to prove you are not “Black”.
Why did you think the Census wanted to know your race.
I put “American” on mine.
I put ‘human’ on mine.
I think you’re correct.
And they are making sure the hood has its fair share of whites to?
If not, why not?
Let’s just gerrymander the zip codes to make all neighborhoods equal!! /sarc
