I didn’t hear Rush today, but read a discussion this AM at Lucianne on the Leno interview gaffes. The story was at Newsbusters.
I’ve become ‘bams amateur arm-chair psycho-analyst; I’ve followed every story I can find that might offer some insight into this character high-functioning basket-case, beginning with the first email story circulated during the election of ‘08.
You may recall that one; it speculated that ‘bam was a malignant narcissist. It was cogent and well informed, but my hunch is that it was shy of the mark— ‘bams no narcissistic malignancy, he’s a full-blown Socio-path. Again, that’s just my hunch and I’m no psychologist— though I’ve seen enough of them.
The report of the Leno interview brought this to mind— and its just the latest of many documenting his countless errors, contradictions and blatant lies. Just as interesting is his total lack of concern or fear of consequences for such irresponsibility.
I recall an observation made somewhere, to the effect that garbled, dis-ordered, illogical or just incomprehensible verbal presentation was typical, perhaps even a hallmark of the sociopath. They seem to live by the old dictum: ‘If you can’t bedazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullsh!t” They are capable of coherence only in the mimicry of someone else. They invest their mental resources in how they say things and reserve none for comprehension of anything they say. There are no mental resources left for understanding or remembering any of the words they launch,it’s all “sound and fury signifying nothing.”
Here’s the problem: I’m not sure of the original source, and have not been able to find any discussion that might support this claim. If there are any freepers can steer me in the right direction, I’d be grateful.
This much is certain: ‘bam is not stupid. He is cold, incapable of empathy or sympathy, calculating and ruthless. He is good at his game (having practiced it and refined it for as long as he can remember), has a good sense of timing, and combines a lighting-fast strike with the patience of a tick waiting to drop on a host. He is also charming and charismatic to the point of being hypnotic. These traits are typical of insects, reptiles and sociopaths.
I don’t think we’ve ever seen his like in high office before.
