I hate the concept of recall elections (if the term is four years, it should be four years, barring impeachment for crimes), and wish that all of those states who fell for that Progressive bunkum a century ago struck it from their constitutions. But as long as the law is in the books, I am all for using it to get rid of liberal RATs; they certainly have no qualms about using it to try to get rid of Republicans.
I support the right to recall, since politicians can’t be trusted to safeguard their own ethics. At the same time, they should require far more signatures and should be conducted for more reasons than mere policy disagreements, like ethics violations or blatantly lying to win reelection.
Sometimes, recall elections can backfire and benefit the incumbent, as was the case with Scott Walker.
