Former Republican Congressman and Drug Czar Asa Hutchinson (at right) holds an eight-point lead over his Democratic rival for governor, former Democratic Rep. Mike Ross, D. The two men are vying to replace Gov. Mike Beebe, D, who defeated Hutchinson for the job in 2006 but cannot run again due to term limits.

Not only is Asa a retread, he’s a pro-illegal retread. He was notoriously weak on border security while Undersecretary for Border & Transportation Security at DHS.
And his performance in 2006 for Governor (when it was an open seat) was terrible, just under 41%. He fared better in 1990 running for Attorney General when the GOP was in poor shape. This will be his 4th try at statewide office in 28 years. Curtis Coleman seems a better choice.
