In an actual American system of justice, Hasan’s statements ought to be taken as “Confession in open Court” of “levying War against” the United States for purposes of Article 3, Section 3 of the Constitution
“Statements of counsel are not evidence”, per the Manual for Courts Martial and every jurisdiction. Here, he’s 1)acting as his own counsel, and 2) not under oath. I have no doubt that, should he choose to testify, he will gladly admit to each and every element of each and every crime. That should make it pretty much a slam dunk for the court members to find him guilty of all charges and specifications.
