In a completely unrelated development, all medical records are to be stored electronically and made accessible to the Federal government. So medical records would be as good as a registry.
Just a coinky-dink, I’m sure...
The onlly proper answer to this question is “None of your damn business”.
Has anybody ever just grabbed their medical file from the Doc’s office and left?
Oh, I know they insist “you can’t do that!”, but it’s not true.
So "should refrain" is not an order, but "we don't need you to do that" is?
Don’t think for a minute that your private medical records under Obamacare won’t end up in a government data base and be used for your “background check” to purchase or own a firearm. Feeling depressed at the loss of a loved one and getting a short term anti-depressant prescription...no guns for you. Taking a prescription medication that in rare instances from some obscure government study might cause you to have suicidal thoughts...no guns for you. I can even see gun grabbing goon squads just showing up at your door because of something in your medical records the government deems might cause you to be a “risk”. The Second Amendment might be another victim of Obamacare.
Hmmm. Seems every doctor in the country has become a feral government informant. I wonder how that feels.
Tell the “docs” to f*** off.
Is there a state where the doctor can compel you to answer these questions?
Importantly, this was started by the radical liberal American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), who are strictly agenda politics, not care of children.
It got so bad that a former AAP president founded the American College of Pediatricians (ACP), which supports traditional values and emphasizes medical care for children, not political agenda.
Truthfully, new parents should be advised that when shopping for a Pediatrician, that they should make sure they are ACP not AAP.
The people are just getting what they deserve.
Private medicine has been delivering the goods for more than 100 years.
But, people want it free, and they want it perfect, and always risk-free. All three are not possible in the real world.
So what do they do? They appeal to the government and try to enact the impossible, also known as socialism. Thereby punishing the doctors, and cutting off their own noses to spite their faces.
So be happy, people! This government micromanagement and screwing up an excellent system is exactly what you wanted. Enjoy!
Many people due to high yearly deductibles and other bs are going to cash and carry mds for their health care.
Offer the doc $100 - $150 for each visit with no record keeping on his/her part. Then, you are not lying nor answering gun questions, that you don't want to answer.
I just went for a check up today. Not a gun question was asked. In fact, I don’t believe any questions were asked. Just, “Step up here”. “Sit there”. Breathe in and breathe out”.

BTTT!
guys, guys...most of us are adults. It is not likely that the docs will ask adults. What they are doing is asking parents to leave the room, and asking the kids — “tell me, it’s ok. It’s our secret, so don’t let Mommy know what I ask, and I won’t tell her what you answer. You love Mommy and Daddy, don’t you? and want them to be safe? Now, tell me, how many guns do they have? Where do they keep them?”
One tried that with my daughter when she was about 6. As soon as we came back in the room, my little girl said, “Ima, she wanted me to lie to you about what she asked me. I think she is a bad person, and I don’t like her. I’m going to tell everyone in church about her.”
The doctor turned red and said that she would not treat us any more — and I said, “you’re damn right you won’t. I don’t care what you asked, but how dare you tell a child to keep secrets from her parents.” (So, I lied — I sure did care about what she asked)
It’s not about us saying NOYFB, it is about teaching our children to withstand the govt indoctrination and threats.
Florida state regulates doctors, doctor does misconduct, doctor is displined by florida state regulators.
This is no different than a doctor being prohibited from advising patients that bongo drums will cure an exploded apendix.
Find another physician. Period.
