I think banks should give each customer two pins. One is legit, the other is an SOS call the cops code. It should allow the user to perform normal ATM routines and it should call the police.

Goons would stop doing this, because they would never know if the police were being alerted or not.

Good idea. Maybe the bank could let you enter your pin backwards as a distress signal. Or maybe enter it twice.
