I don’t care who I’ll offend either in repeating what one teacher told me once, and that is that people who don’t know how to spell most likely don’t read, or don’t know how to reach, because one learns spelling not from writing but from, d’uh, reading!

I don't know about the "reaching" part, but I see proof of what you say all the time.
People will write "should of" and "would of" without realizing how ignorant it makes them look. That's not a typo, that's just ignorance.
And they hear it all the time on the idiot box, but if you don't read it, you apparently don't realize they are saying "should've" and "would've".
