We discussed having our sons build themselves a cabin in the back yard, to get them out of the house, but the law says you have to let your minor children sleep inside. Very annoying.

So provide a bed in their rooms for them and let them sleep outside as often as they wish.
You've got the place for them to stay. What are you supposed to do? Chain them to their beds every night?

But they will be inside, once they build the cabin. That sounds like a fun project.

Dear Tax-chick,
You should have had them build the cabin, and then you and your husband could have gone out to the cabin.
What you'd have lost in creature comforts, you'd have gained in peace and quiet.
