Someone brought a fawn to a no-kill animal shelter, they thought something had happened to the Mother. The shelter took care of it and arranged to have it transferred to an wild animal reserve.
But the day before this would take place, Dept of Natural Resources (DNR) raided the animal shelter and killed the fawn -- they said it's "policy" -- they found out about it from an anonymous caller...
Your government at work...
Another link with pictures of the fawn and article:
They just didn't go in there willy nilly;
"On July 15 DNR agents and four deputy sheriffs staged the surprise raid in what staff workers called a massive and intimidating show of force.
According to a state affidavit, the DNR had been conducting aerial and ground surveillance in advance of the raid searching for an illegally-held live captive Whitetail deer.
They WORKED at it.
Ironic.
I shudder to think that this kind of mindless bureaucracy will soon be in charge of our health care.
I wonder what urgent business these agents are off to today
The government agencies that are supposed to protect wildlife are killing them and not allowing others to save them.
Another sad story, where agents forced a couple to abandon an injured baby seal, didn’t allow them to save it:
Weymouth couple could face fine for helping injured baby seal (better to abandon it, let it die)

Not the mention the money this costs — I think we would all be better off if they just dissolved that department.
No grandmas in wheel chairs will be safe from the drones peering down on their backyards. Goodbye to the USA. Hello to the NSA.
Maybe the agents were hungry?
Maybe the agents were hungry?
Three cheers for CNN ! The start of a very encouraging trend. I’d watch if I had cable. :) It looks like they have finally come to the realization that the root of the decline had been a lack of real reporting.
Killing something. That is how they get their sexual thrill, a/k/a , jollies; orgasm.
Meanwhile, the mother is pissed because the stupid human kid napped her fawn.
There were no teenage or adult fawns to kill so they shot the baby fawn
You betcha!
All this was a training excercise. How fast can they deploy using all assets based on an anonymous tip.
Not to mention finding out if they have the stones to kill a fawn named Giggles. If you can kill Bambi in the blink of an eye surely women and children will be a snap.
Added bonus is that creek cops are exempt from warrant requirements and can call on other LEO assests to assist in these wildlife adventures.
Let's say a grandchild discovers a toy bow and arrow set bought at a Stucky's when you were a child. Plays with it in your yard observed by a zealous eco-nut, who then quietly calls local Fish & Wildlife or the Fed reporting that you have an item with the feathers of an endangered or threatened species on the arrow. WHAM! Not only will the creek cops been on your case, Chile-protection might be called in depending on what NSA taps reveal. Hell, they'll do it just because.
So, the government killed Bambi?
Taxpayer dollars used to intimidate private citizens, kill a baby deer and violate the privacy of a not for profit organization.
Great job, DNR.
