The other benefit is the lower taxes when all those ‘fancy’ schools and buses aren’t needed.

Just think of the empowerment of the parent vs. teacher. Don’t like what they are doing, tell ‘em ‘You’re fired’ or move them into another class/study group/school/etc. which would abound and compete for the $$.

Yep, just another pipe dream I’m afraid.

Hmmmm, it has so many good results, as you mention. Actually, it may be the only real control we could have at home (town), rather than in distant governments like state and DC. It would be a ground-up change to the entire educational mess. But it must be a state law that only property owners pay for school funding? Those that live in apartmnts don’t pay squat.
