WASHINGTON, D.C. Congressman Tom Price, M.D. (GA-06), applauded the passage of legislation he introduced H.R. 2009, the Keep the IRS Off Your Health Care Act today, saying:
By voting to prohibit the IRS from implementing or enforcing any part of President Obamas health care law, the House of Representatives has taken an important step toward protecting the health care of American citizens today. The Keep the IRS Off Your Health Care Act has the support of over 140 cosponsors in the House and has been endorsed by numerous organizations and thousands of Americans who share our commitment to preventing any of our fellow citizens from having to answer to the IRS when it comes to their personal health care decisions.
The IRS clearly has not been able to prudently and impartially enforce current tax laws. It has abused its authority by targeting individuals and organizations. Theres no reason to trust this massive agency with one of the most personal aspects of our lives our health care.
Instead, we ought to be empowering individuals and families to make their own health care decisions. There are many positive ways to pursue a patient-centered health care system. But to get there, we need the Obama Administration and Senate Democrats to stop siding with the Washington bureaucracy and to start standing up for the rights and health care choices of the American people.
To all the conservatives in congress, keep it up, don’t give up, we canwin this battle. We are behind you 100%!!!!
Thanks, Doctor Tom.
Big EFFING Deal. So, how would 0bama ‘solve’ this? He would put the HHS, TSA, DHS, EPA, or Social Security Administration in charge of it. There is NO good solution for who oversees Obamacare. SOMEONE will oversee Obamacare and it won’t be acceptable, regardless.
Sure its great. Does it stand a chance of passing the Senate or being signed into law?
Perhaps the thinking was that the IRS has so much power and they have not shown they are up to the task (sharing taxpayer info online for example).
Ahhh, but what happens when this bill reaches:
1) The Harry Reid Senate
(and even if we were to pass that unlikely hurdle )...
2) Obama’s desk?
Wouldn’t it have the same effect as the House passing bill after bill (count them, 37 times, the most recent one by Michele Bachmann ) to repeal Obamacare?
Don’t know how this will play out, but people have been asking for congress members to stand for principles.
The momentum is building, think positive and go to town halls if possible, Make your voices heard.

If the German people are already so corrupted and spiritually crushed that they do not raise a hand, frivolously trusting in a questionable faith in lawful order in history; if they surrender man’s highest principle, that which raises him above all other God’s creatures, his free will; if they abandon the will to take decisive action and turn the wheel of history and thus subject it to their own rational decision; if they are so devoid of all individuality, have already gone so far along the road toward turning into a spiritless and cowardly
mass - then, yes, they deserve their downfall.
Will he vote to keep money for Obamacare out of the continuing resolution?
Tom Price is applauding this vote based on what is shown in this video - Werfel is not cooperating - fiery exchange between Issa and Werfel.

The exemption was provided to congress - if there was a vote on that, please share that information.

However, the Office of Personnel Management now plans to rule that the government can continue to make a contribution to the health-care premiums of the lawmakers and their staff, it said, citing unnamed congressional sources and a White House official.
There was no vote. It was done by way of a ruling of the Office of Personnel Management.
Tom Price is a great guy but is this going to fly in the Senate?
If the left really thinks this is such a future vote killer for the GOP, they would be figuring out how to slip them a few extra votes.
