I have always thought that the idea of a Kansas City pitcher striking out a Milwaukee batter to give the Rangers home field advantage in the World Series against the Dodgers was a little ridiculous.

Baseball’s ASG was better before interleague play. It was the only chance outside of the World Series to see stars of different leagues play against each other. When MLB sold out for interleague play, they cut the legs out from under the All-Star Game too.

Now that there’s interleague play, why not decide home field by which league wins more interleague games? Or, horror of horrors, by head to head record between the teams involved if they played during the season?

Can’t have that.

The hate I have for interleague play is exceeded only by my hate for the Designated Hitter.

If that rule ever comes to the National League (or the Braves are moved to the junior circuit) I will stop watching baseball altogether.
