I don't know about the $5 million - I don't think there was that much damage done to him and it's taxpayer's money anyway.

A public flogging of Corey would be more appropriate.

I agree on the tax payer burden part. I think the $5 mil should be taken out of the state’s public employees pension fund. That would send the right message to the right people.

How about doing something on principle? Isn’t it wrong that the evildoer(s) retained employment and the noble one was persecuted? Have you ever been wrongfully accused, or punished when you were in the right? His reputation and career were impacted/damaged heavily. Decent taxpayers would rather provide compensation for the wrongfully accused than foot the bill for Obamaphones, Lois Lerner’s continuing salary, etc.
