Wearing a reminder of what Jesus went through is not an act of worship. It is a reminder of Jesus’ sacrifice. This does not constitute worship.

I know exactly what you are saying. Perhaps 'worship' was the wrong word.

What I was referring to was use of the cross, as if the symbol itself had some kind of 'power', such as in exorcisms.

It makes perfect sense that satan or a demon would be reminded of Christ and His sacrifice by seeing a crucifix and be overcome by the thought of Christ’s power over demons/satan. Demons have an intellect, and the sight of a cross would cause them to associate it with their nemesis, Christ, and become very agitated at the reminder of Christ’s absolute power over them/all evil.
