Former Director of Central Intelligence, R. James Woolsey led a panel discussion on the growing and imminent threat a nuclear or natural electromagnetic pulse, EMP, to America's power grid and devastating loss of life that would follow such an attack. President Bill Clintons former Director of Central Intelligence, R. James Woolsey, led a panel discussion on Natural EMPthe growing and perhaps imminent threat of a natural or nuclear electromagnetic pulse (EMP) to the U.S. electric grid and other critical infrastructures that sustain modern civilization and the lives of millions of Americans. The event was sponsored by the newly established EMP Coalition, of which Mr. Woolsey is the Honorary Co-Chair along with former House Speaker Newt Gingrich
Other participants were Ambassador Henry Cooper and Dr. Peter Vincent Pry. Ambassador Cooper led strategic arms control negotiations with the USSR under President Reagan and served as the Director of the Strategic Defense Initiative Organization under President George H.W. Bush. His is currently the Chairman of High Frontier, an organization dedicated to protecting the United States from nuclear attack. Dr. Pry served on the Congressional EMP Threat Commission, as a professional staff member on the House Armed Services Committee and as an analyst in the CIA. He is now the Executive Director of the Task Force on National and Homeland Security, a congressional advisory board dedicated to national resiliency in the face of EMP and other threats.

He ignores the high probability manifest high risk threat in the Offal Office.
Like muslim immigration...
“National resiliency” in a nation filled to the brim with people of Sheila jackson Lee’s capacity is a tall order.
Anything falling down is unlikely to be put back up. Already today, I think, the US would be unable to build much of its own infrastructure.
and look at this 2010 link in USA Today:
Jus how much different is this from the Liberal utopia Detroit?
We still recognize drinking water?
Our Malthusian petri dish is getting a little crowded. It is a good time to be old. We have lived the easiest existence ever experienced by homo sapiens...and listen to us bitch. We live in interesting times.
the stuff in the toilet???
Save
The Amish and those off the grid will survive if not overrun by flash snobs.
Odd that the last 3, I believe, missile intercept tests failed. Does not compute.
“May you Live in Interesting Times” is a Chinese proverb meant
to be a curse.
Seems about right.
Who needs an EMP when a country can manufacture its own demise from within? We have done this.
Story after story after story, whipping people up about this or that.
The real story is the gubbamint turning on it's citizens. EMP is the last thing I'm worried about.
Other existential threats to America, according to the CIA:
1) Sharknados.
2) Lethal strain of antibiotic-resistant Bieber Fever.
3) MLB steroid abuse.
4) Jenkem.
5) Privacy.
Where does the benefit of the doubt now lay?
This is conceptual prep-work for THEM “reminding” us about juuust how valuable they are.
Now us green-toothed slubberdegullions outside the beltway are having serious questions about the Constitutional fitness of most high-budget, electronic cloak-and-dagger programs.
They feel their pound of flesh is threatened by all these pestering civilian questions, and so they’re going to re-arrange our priorities and put us IN OUR PLACE.
If an EMP attack comes to pass I would blame OUR SIDE first; they’ll first harden up their gear to all eternity, and then they’ll banish us peasants to the stone-age.
Our betters are sharpening the blade, prepping up to PUNISH us.
That comment is the truth. The government wants to create a scare and force companies to bankrupt themselves trying to protect themselves from an EMP burst. Once private industry is broke then government can excuse themselves to take over.
The truth is that most people who work in electrical generation/distribution know of many very simple ways in which the electrical grid can be collapsed, and it doesn’t take millions of dollars and a nuke weapon. For obvious reasons they don’t talk about these ways, but the fact that terrorists haven’t even tried these simple things up to now leads me to believe that we have succeeded in killing many of the “brainiacs” of the mooselimb terror network. The real danger is the politics that comes from the oral office.
