After the courts are through with Trayvon Martin's sweatshirt, which he was wearing when he was killed, will it wind up in an evidence locker...or a museum?
Long after the trial ends, the evidence remains.
Sometimes, it's returned to family members. Other times, if it's valuable, it's auctioned off. And then, if there's no more room for it in the court house or police station and the case is long closed, it's destroyed.
In the case of Trayvon Martin's iconic black hooded sweatshirt, which he was wearing the night neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman shot and killed him in 2012, there will be no return to a family member, appearance at an auction or trip to the incinerator. At least not yet.
Last week, the Washington Post reported, Sanford, Fla., police removed the infamous garment from the frame it had been displayed in when prosecutors showed it to the jury during Zimmerman's trial. Zimmerman, who was charged with second degree murder and manslaughter in Martin's death, was acquitted last month.
After the trial, the hoodie was placed in an evidence bag and driven by Sanford Police to a Justice Department office in Orlando, along with other items Martin possessed on the night of his death, including a bag of Skittles and an AriZona brand beverage....

“The trash sounds fine......”
Jim, this is why we need a like button.
What is Trayvon’s mom doing today and where is she?
In Detroit.
Right alongside Howdy Doody for which the city paid $300,000.
The Question is how much will “The Hoody” be worth one day?
I thought it smelled really bad, due to it not having been dried out after collection? That’s why it was placed in the frame.
Figuring out how to make $$$ of said hoodie.
We (group of four 23 year old girls) walked into a bar and I wore my Yankees T-shirt! Little did I know, a Yankees/Redsox game had been rescheduled due to rain for that night! My friends wanted me to put my shirt on inside out! I said no!!
One guy asked if he could send us over a pitcher of Sam Adams for my bravery! I said only if I can watch it being poured and carry it to the table myself! Which I did!
I think everyone here would agree 100% on where Al should put it
My grandsons, age 8 and 10 at the time were verbally harassed by kids at LAX waiting for a flight.
My guys had Red Sox Tees on and the others had Yankee shirts on.
It’s an on-going rivalry.

Hmmm.... This has me thinking of placing a can of Arizona Watermelon fruit juice and a few boxes of Skittles into a sealed dog urine filled aquarium. I’ll call my art piece, “Muggers Last Stand”.
Look for it on eBay.
Now on a serious note, this entire conversation is recidivous.
recidivous= ridiculous
Nailed to a cross and on display as High Art, probably.
Hung on the wall of the Oval Office bathroom where Klintoon got Lewinski’d.
Auctioned off to the highest bidder - mama needs moe money.
They MUST also display the "wet grass" that ms. I can't read cursive "heard" over the phone.
But—But—Chicago PD has hundreds of hoodies worn by DEAD black children.
.
Small pieces will be put in reliquaries for veneration at shrines dedicated to Saint Trayvon and will be objects of pilgrimage by liberals. Although I expect Al Sharpton to be waving the blood stained hoodie while delivering a stem winding speech at the 2016 Democratic convention.
I have a son, born and raised in MA,who has been working in NYC for 20 years.
In 2004 during the ALCS I asked how he kept his joy in check when the Sox won.
He said that he tells everyone that he’s a diehard Mets fan and doesn’t like the Yankees.
.
Duct tape it!
