We can only hope that in such an inevitability of tyranny by His Heinous and His own Praetorian Guards - that history repeats itself..... quickly.
However, given that history - a Republic never returned to Rome.
Which makes Adams’ warning all-the-more urgent: “Liberty lost is lost forever”.

It was a wonderful experiment in Liberty, Individual Responsibility and Freedom, while it lasted.

Again, Benjamin Franklin understood this fact well. “They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety,” he said in 1755, “deserve neither liberty nor safety.”
