I have a thought, and it goes like this.

The sexting (in the view of most New Yorkers) is a tempest in a teapot. Most New Yorkers (Clarification: As pertains to NYC’s denizens — as opposed to Upstaters) are not Mid-Westerners or Southerners in their moral outlook — anything but!

Therefore, this “scandal” can safely “explode” in the media without Weiner’s being seriously hurt in his race for the Big Apple’s Mayor’s Office.

In other words, this is — I fear — a “head fake” to distract people from the REAL issue (Namely: His wife’s Muslim Brotherhood ties).
